I have been in animal rescue for over 25 years. I knew from a young age that animals were important and needed our protection. Lassie was a program I never watched for fear something would happen to Lassie; that was terrifying to me.
As a nurse by education I made a career in patient care, followed by medical device sales, and then in the surgery department as an educator. My extra curricular activity has always been animal rescue. I have learned to network with rescues, shelters, and humane societies. I have volunteered, planned fund raising events, and advised on facility improvements. I have been involved in trap and release, (TNR), efforts trying to care for forgotten felines. I care for feral cat colonies and coach, support and educate those who desire to assist with the cause.
I am the operator of my own non-profit animal rescue, Rescue Me Jackson Area, and have assisted other non-profits in many ways. My lifelong goal is to generate funds through sales of quality products and fund animal rescue efforts throughout our great nation. I would like to award grants, assist shelters and humane societies, and offer the resources necessary to do good things for animals. I believe in TNR, spay and neutering for our own pets, and providing the 5 rights to animals. The right to warmth, food and water, medical care, love and attention, and allowing an animal to be him/her self; playing and loving in a nurturing environment. For the love of animals, they are the voiceless, and we can change their lives. BECAUSE THEIR LIVES MATTER.
